OverviewComfortable anchoring without rolling. The SWI-TEC stabilizer reduces boat movements up to 50% and is recommended to improve comfort at anchor, reduce seasickness and provide a peaceful anchoring experience.
Key benefits- Reduces rolling movements by up to 50% (actual effectiveness depends on vessel type, size, weight, number of stabilizers used and sea/wave conditions).
- Especially recommended for seasickness and longer stays at anchor.
- Simple, passive system – no electricity required.
- Foldable design and delivered with a durable, water-repellent storage bag for compact stowage.
- Production in Europe; designed for marine use with corrosion resistant materials.
How it worksThe stabilizer is a box-shaped device with movable plates that is lowered into the water. During downward motion plates open to let water pass; during upward motion plates close and dampen the movement. The surface area and design act as a braking/valve system in the water to reduce side-to-side roll.
Installation & positioning- Easy installation: secured with a single external line slightly deeper than the hull (depth depends on sea conditions). Can be positioned on the side, bow or stern depending on wave direction.
- Correct positioning: place slightly deeper than the hull so the stabilizer does not touch the hull but displaces enough water.
- Depending on boat weight, one or several stabilizers may be used; mounting two on the same side is recommended for increased effect.
StorageFoldable elements allow the device to be stored compactly in the supplied water-repellent bag when not in use.
Limitations & cautions- Not recommended in very rough seas or extremely high waves due to high loads on cleats or railings.
- Less effective if placed too close to the hull.
- Possibility of contact with underwater obstacles (seagrass, wreckage) or interference with anchor chain when installed at the bow.
- Only for use when stationary at anchor or in port; never while underway.
Maintenance & safety- Ensure mounting point is strong enough to handle forces involved.
- Regularly inspect connecting elements, loops and screws for damage or corrosion.
- Rinse with fresh water after use to remove salt deposits.
- Only pack into the storage bag once completely dry to avoid moisture damage.
